Santiago Vargas Domínguez

A physicist from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, holds an MSc and PhD in Astrophysics from the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias in Spain, with posdoctoral research experience in Europe and the US. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where they serve as the Research Coordinator for the Observatorio Astronómico Nacional. Member of various academic societies, including the Royal Astronomical Society, the American Astronomical Society, and the International Astronomical Union. He has participated in several science communication initiatives, including web series, podcasts,  writing weekly science columns for the newspaper El Tiempo since 2014, and writing the books: "Mi primer libro del Sol", "Mujer es Ciencia", "El viaje de Juno" and  "Historias del Cosmos".
