Rakoen Maertens

Dr Rakoen Maertens is a Research Associate and Bye-Fellow in Psychology at the Cambridge Social Decision-Making Lab. He received his PhD from the University of Cambridge on "The Long-Term Effectiveness of Inoculation Against Misinformation", for which he won the Cambridge Society for the Application of Research award. He is actively involved in applying the latest insights on "prebunking" to create and test pre-emptive text-based, video-based, and gamified interventions to foster psychological resilience to misinformation. He co-founded the Cambridge University Behavioural Insights Team and has experience with counter-misinformation consultancy work for various organisations such as Google and the UK Cabinet Office.
