Maria Clara Valencia
Maria Clara Valencia is Internews' Amazon Editor, working on a project dedicated to investigating transnational environmental crimes in the Amazon. She has written for US media (Indian Country Today) and Brazilian media, and lectured in environmental journalism at the Universidad Tecnologica de Bolivar and for the Earth Journalism Network. Currently she’s a trainer on a programme teaching science journalists from around the Amazon Basin how to integrate indigenous knowledge with Western science in their stories in order to better serve the communities they’re reporting on.
