Lina Cabellos

Lina Isabel Ceballos-Bonilla is a Civil Engineer from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She also holds a Master's degree in Hydraulic Resources Engineering from the same university and a Master of Science in Atmospheric and Earth Sciences from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on climate change, climate variability, and weather forecasting. Professionally, she has worked for the last 12 years in the Early Warning System of Medellín and the Aburrá Valley (SIATA - a science, technology, and innovation project of the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley), specifically in the Meteorology team. Her responsibilities include numerical weather forecasting, using and managing remote sensors to measure hydrometeorological variables, and contributing to disaster risk management for early warning alerts. Currently, she is the coordinator of the risk management teamwork of SIATA.
