Kirsten Haupt is a communication expert with over thirty years of experience in international settings. Holding a PhD in history, she started out by taking on communication challenges in several UN peace-keeping missions. Following a life-long fascination with science, Kirsten then moved on to become a science communicator, initially in the field of nuclear disarmament and now in fusion energy. At ITER she is a member of a small, but very agile, communication team whose aim is to spread the word about the largest energy research project on the planet. Her work takes her on the buzzing ITER worksite almost on a daily basis where she informs all kinds of audiences about the project’s progress and challenges.
