Avivah Yamani
Avivah Yamani is an astronomy communicator from Indonesia. She is a co-founder and writer of langitselatan, an astronomy online media in Indonesia, and Project Director of 365 Days of Astronomy by CosmoQuest. She focused on engaging the public in astronomy using online media as well as offline activities such as star parties, sidewalk astronomy, teaching, and storytelling. She currently serves as IAU Office for Astronomy Outreach National Coordinator for Indonesia. Received a bachelor’s degree in Astronomy in 2003 and then received a master’s degree in Astrophysics in 2007. Main field of research is in planetary system. Specialties: astronomy & astrophysics, education and public outreach, web development, new media, social networking, graphic design, storytelling.
